At approximately 4,900 meters above sea level, this tour begins with a scenic drive through the Andes, passing through Quechua villages and landscapes dotted with llamas and alpacas. A short 30- to 45-minute walk leads to the main viewpoint, where you can appreciate the vibrant colors of the mountains, formed by ancient mineral deposits. On clear days, you can also see the majestic Ausangate mountain. It’s a perfect option for families, beginners, or travelers with limited time, offering an unforgettable experience of nature, culture, and peace in the Peruvian Andes.

Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain
The full-day tour to Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain begins at 7:00 a.m. with pickup from your hotel in Cusco, followed by a drive south to the colonial town of Checacupe, located at 3,446 meters above sea level, where you’ll find three historic bridges: Inca, colonial, and republican. After a brief stop, we continue to the starting point of the hike, passing through remote communities and local schools, allowing for enriching cultural interaction. The hike to Palccoyo takes about 45 minutes, traversing the stone forest to reach panoramic views of Mount Ausangate and the surrounding valley. Afterward, we descend to the parking area, return to Checacupe for lunch, and finally return to Cusco, arriving around 5:00 p.m.
